What makes Assistive Living at Woodlawn Commons more attractive than other similar facilities?
Experience and reputation are important.  The Wesley Community has offered a continuum of care noted for excellence for more than 35 years. Many Assistive Living residences offer only a room with bath.  At Woodlawn Commons, the residents in Assistive Living enjoy a personal sitting room and kitchenette, as well as a bedroom and private bathroom.

Are there different levels of care for assistive living?
At Woodlawn Commons, we have four different levels of Assistive Living. These levels of care are based on an individual’s personal care needs and are priced accordingly.

Is Assistive Living at Woodlawn Commons licensed?
Yes.  We are licensed by the New York State Department of Health and held accountable to their standards.  This makes persons who receive services at Assistive Living at Woodlawn eligible for long-term care insurance benefits.

Is Medicare or Medicaid an option for payment at Woodlawn Commons?
No.  The cost of care is covered by private funds or long-term care insurance.

Will I be guaranteed admission into Wesley Health Care Center’s long-term care community if my care needs increase?
Residents in Assistive Living at Woodlawn Commons are given preferred consideration for other levels of care, but not guaranteed admission.  A separate application will be required.

May I have a pet in my apartment?
Yes, Woodlawn Commons allows pets. Restrictions apply and a deposit is required.

Is there a waiting list?
Yes.  Until an apartment becomes available, a fully refundable interest-bearing deposit is requested from all applicants.
